Deep in the Heart

An idea blossomed deep in the caring heart and creative mind of Ann Eisemann. Since the formation of the organization in 2009, the purpose of Richardson Real Heroes has been to seek out and recognize the most outstanding volunteers who pour their heart and soul into the work they dedicate themselves to for a multitude of organizations across a variety of industries in Richardson. The services they perform are an integral part and invaluable contribution for these enterprises. These volunteers silently and generously give of their time without compensation. There is no other city-wide program that focuses solely on recognizing these unsung heroes. In 2023, the organization became its own independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) and are now no longer affiliated with any other entity or organization. We remain committed to continuing Ann’s dream and desire.

Why do we do it? Our program celebrates well-deserving, hard-working, unpaid, remarkable individuals who have not before been recognized. It highlights these individuals through a beautifully produced video story of their volunteer life, which is unveiled during a unique recognition award ceremony. The award recipients story inspires others to volunteer. This all-encompassing circle of effort and appreciation enriches our entire city. That’s why we do it.
